प्रश्न 1
से 8 में x के सापेक्ष निम्नलिखित फलनों का अवकलन कीजिए :
प्रश्न 1.
sin (x2 + 5)
हल:
माना f(x) = sin ( x2 + 5)
u = x2 + 5 तथा v(t) = sin t है।
∴ vou(x) = v[u(x)] = v(x2 + 5)
= sin ( x2 + 5) = f(x)
इस प्रकार f(x) दो फलनों का संयुक्त फलन है।
यदि t = u(x) = x2 + 5,
प्रश्न 2.
2. cos (sin x)
हल:
माना y = cos (sin x)
तथा u = sin x
तब y = cos u तथा u = sin x
∴ \(\frac{d y}{d u}=-\sin u\) तथा \(\frac{d u}{d x}=\cos x\)
अब \(\frac{d y}{d x}=\frac{d y}{d u} \times \frac{d u}{d x}\)
= sin u × cos x
= – sin (sin x) cos x
∴\(=\frac{d}{dx}\) = – sin (sin x) cos x
वैकल्पिक विधि :
y = cos (sin x)
\(\frac{d}{d x}[\cos (\sin x)]=-\sin (\sin x) \cdot \frac{d}{d x}(\sin x)\)
∴ \(\frac { dy }{ dx } =-[sin(sinx)]cosx\)
प्रश्न 3.
sin (ax + b)
‘हल:
माना y = sin (ax + b)
तथा u = ax + b
तब y = sin u तथा u = ax + b

‘हल:

सिद्ध कीजिए कि महत्तम पूर्णांक फलन f(x) = [x], 0 < x < 3, x = 1 तथा x = 2 पर अवकलित नहीं है।
हल :
(i) x = 1 के लिए,
बायें पक्ष का अवकलज (Left hand derivative)
=limh → 0\(\frac{2-2}{h}\)
[क्योंकि (2 + h) के पहले महत्तम पूर्णांक 2 है]
= 0
∴ बायें पक्ष का अवकलज limh → 0\(\frac{1}{h}\), परिभाषित नहीं है।
अत: फलन x = 2 पर अवकलनीय नहीं है।
